Current status
Confirmed: the Pentagon has ordered its bases to stop depending on the civilian grid.
Not true: the UK told people to stock 30 days. The official figure is 3 days.
The board
Every claim we track about FORTRESS and the stock-up warnings, with its label and who reported it. Open a claim to see its sources.
Region, theory, trust and sort

What people think it means
Theories about why, not reports of what happened. Each card shows where the theory shows up, what on the board points toward it, and what points against it. The theory most linked from the board gets the most room.
What would have to be true
What officials actually recommend
Only what governments have published, by country and date, linked to the claim on the board. No government source we found asks for 30 days. The blackout starter kit below turns these checklists into one list you can tick off.

Questions people are asking
The questions people are typing into search right now, answered from the board. Each answer links the claims it rests on.
Incoming wire
Unreviewed, auto-collectedHeadlines from the last 48 hours that match the topic, collected from Google News every 6 hours. Nobody has checked these yet. The trust blocks rate the outlet, not the headline.
How we label claims
Two separate ratings. The stamp says how well a claim is supported. The trust blocks say how reliable an outlet is in general. The automated wire never changes a label: a script cannot know if something is true.
Labels
| Label | When we use it |
|---|---|
| Fact | A primary source exists: an official release, transcript, government page, court or budget document. |
| Confirmed | Two or more independent outlets rated 4 or higher report it with consistent details. |
| Reported | One outlet rated 3 or higher reports it. No second source yet. |
| Rumor | Only social posts, forums, or blogs rated 1 or 2. |
| Speculation | A theory about why, not a claim of what happened. Always tagged with its theory. |
| Debunked | An official denial or a fact-checker contradicts it. |
Flags next to a stamp: DEVELOPING means the claim is dated or changed in the last 48 hours. UPDATED means its label or details changed in the last 7 days, with a one-line note. CORRECTION means we downgraded a label we got wrong; the old label stays in the claim's history. SIMPSONS marks a claim people tie to a Simpsons episode: a tag, never a status. DATE marks a scheduled event, with a countdown when it is less than 30 days away.
Outlet trust, 1 to 5
| Trust | Who lands here |
|---|---|
| 5 | Primary documents and official statements (Department of War, gov.uk, European Commission, FEMA, FCC) and wire services. |
| 4 | Papers of record, major broadcasters and specialist outlets with corrections policies, and fact-checkers that publish their sources. |
| 3 | Aggregating magazines and local TV. Also an outlet that is the only source for its own claim. |
| 2 | Tabloids, opinion sites, partisan outlets and re-reporters. |
| 1 | Anonymous blogs, social posts on Facebook, Instagram, X or YouTube, Reddit threads, Telegram. |
Rating an outlet is not rating the claim. A trust-5 outlet can carry a REPORTED claim that has only one source, and a trust-1 post can point at a FACT once we find the primary source. Each outlet's one-line reason is in the claim's sources panel.
Is the starter kit your advice? No. Every item in it comes from the official checklists it links (Ready.gov and the UK's Be Ready campaign), with their quantities in their wording. We add nothing of our own, and the Amazon buttons only open a search.
